Four people have been confirmed dead while several others have been injured in a road accident in Bauchi.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, Mr Mohammed Haruna disclosed this on Monday in a press release.Mohammed said that the accident happened on Sunday at Miya Berkete village in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
He said : “The accident occurred when an Opel Vectra Ash in colour with REG No.FH 277 ABC, driven by one Saadi Abdullahi male and 35 years of Plateau State conveying five passengers from Jos-Bauchi while on high speed brushed a motorcyclist named Jibrin Haruna and his pillion.
“As a result the driver lost control of the vehicle and had a head on collision with an incoming Golf 3 vehicle,blue in color with REG. No.BSA 306 SC, driven by one Moses Dabo male and 34 years of Jos conveying five passengers from Bauchi.
“Police Patrol team attached to Toro Division visited the scene and rushed casualties to General hospital Toro for medical attention”
Haruna, a Superintendent of Police (SP) ,confirmed that four female passengers were certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor.
The PPRO said nine other occupants including three female youth corp members ,two drivers, a motorcyclist cyclist and his passenger and one CPL Rabiu Othman, male of NPF, serving in Nasarawa Command were referred to ATBU Teaching hospital Bauchi for treatment.
