Walking and slaying in high heels should be an Olympic sports event.
It is that serious. Women everywhere love the elevation, confidence and of course, the sexy legs that come with wearing high-heeled shoes. If you want to walk like a boss in heels, here are a few secrets to help:
1. Always walk “Heel to Toe”
If
you’re wearing flats, how you walk is no problem. But on heels, the
correct way is “heel to toe”. Your heel (with the elevation) must come
down first before your toes (front part of the shoe). This makes your
walk look natural.
2. Take Dainty Steps
Wearing
heels mean your regular strides have to be halved. Think dainty
thoughts and take dainty steps. Don’t forget to swing those hips.
3. Walk Slowly Like A Boss Chic
Ever
notice how bosses are never in a hurry? When you’re wearing heels, you
have to think of yourself as a boss chic and take things slow. No fast
walk or long strides. Take things slow and keep your balance whilst
looking fabulous.
4. Think Of the Road As a Straight Runway
When
on heels, it helps to visualize a straight line/runway from where you
are to your destination. Don’t stare down at your toes. Look straight
ahead and strut your stuff.
5. Lean Back, Ladies
There
are times when you desperately need to increase your speed and get to
your destination faster. You may want to compensate by leaning forward
and putting pressure on your neck. Don’t! Many people who do this look
like “tolo tolo on the run”. Just lean back slightly and increase your
pace.
6. Arch Those Feet
Some
of us have the curse of “sweaty feet” but love heels. When you feel
your feet slipping, arch your feet slightly. This will put pressure on
the inside of your shoes and make them fit better. Your shoes will stop
slipping and you can manoeuvre better.
7. Wear Comfortable Shoes
Comfortable
shoes are important to your overall slay. Ill-fitting shoes making your
walking pattern seem unnatural. You can take care of shoes that are too
big by wearing shoe pads. You can also stretch out shoes that are too
tight. Just ask a cobbler.
Stay slaying ladies!
