Late ex-Gov Kure: Niger govt sends team to Germany

The Niger State government, on Monday, dispatched a delegation, led by the Former Deputy Governor Alhaji Ahmed Musa
Ibeto and the House of Representatives member for Minna federal constituency, Alhaji Umaru Bago,  to Germany to convey the remains of the former governor Alhaji Abdulkhadir Kure back to the country.
Former Governor Kure died, on Sunday afternoon, in a German hospital where he was flown to over three weeks ago.
It was gathered that the decision by the state government to send the two man delegation was informed by the fact that it is only the wife that is in Germany with the corpse.
Alhaji Mahmud Abdullahi, the former Chief Press Secretary to the late former governor confirmed this to newsmen at the residence of the deceased in Minna on Monday, saying that as a result of this development, the burial of the former governor would not take place as early as previously envisaged.
In the main time hundreds of sympathizes including former political associates of the deceased have been trooping to the residence to sympathise with the family.
Among those that have so far visited the house to pay their condolence were former military Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar, Niger state Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, son of Military President, Mohammed Babangida, Niger state PDP chairman Alhaji Tanko Beji.
Former Deputy Governor to the deceased Dr Shem Zagbayi Nuhu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Niger state Alhaji Abubakar Magaji and a former Permanent Secretary Government house during the Kure administration Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed lapai have assumed the role of chief mourners at the residence.
