Kanu: MASSOB warns FG, backs new Ohanaeze leadership
The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra
(MASSOB) has warned the Federal Government
not to toy with
the lives of leaders of pro-Biafran groups, Nnamdi Kanu, Chidiebere
Onwudiwe and others standing trial courts across the country.
MASSOB leader, Uchenna Madu, insisted that Nnamdi Kanu and other Biafra
agitators committed no crime against Nigeria state, adding that their
only crime was their belief and involvement, commitment and continuous
agitation for independent Biafran Republic.
According to Madu, “MASSOB sees the rigmaroles, secret trial and over ambitiousness of Nigeria State Security Services (SSS) and Prison Services as a gravely sign of jittery, frustration and incompetence of Buhari-led Nigeria government. Justice Binta Nyako is directly playing the tune of his Fulani Islamic brother for the interest of Sokoto caliphate.
“The people of Biafra shall never succumb to this systematic
intimidation; the so called secret trials will never see the light of
the day because my brothers Nnamdi Kanu and others did not commit
secret crimes. MASSOB will continue to support and stand in solidarity
with Nnamdi Kanu and other Pro Biafra agitators incarcerated because of Biafra”
Madu further stated “we also remember the traumatic plight of our
members detained at Onitsha and Awka prisons since 2006, they include
Innocent Orji, Sabastine Amadi, Ikechukwu Chikwem, Peter Igbokwe,
Uchenna Nicholas, Uche Idika, Casmir Odokara, Eni
Kalu, Chidiebere Ezekwem, Chima Asoh (cripple), Ojimba Anyanwu, and
Ndubuisi Okam”
MASSOB also congratulated the new leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo led by
Chief Nnia Nwodo and urged the apex socio-cultural Igbo group to know
that piloting the affairs of Ndigbo on the platform of Ohaneze Ndigbo
is strictly based on Igboism which means Igbo political, economical,
social, academic, religious interest first before Nigeria and personal
interest.
