-Pastor Williams Kumuyi says there is no immunity clause in Christianity
- He warns church leaders to fear God as God is not partial in his judgment against evil
- Kumuyi said this during pastors'
conference as Deeper Life Conference Centre, Lagos
Contrary to the immunity clause that covers political leaders in the
secular world, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of
Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has said that in Christendom there is no
immunity clause, insisting that anyone who fails to meet God’s standard
will be judged.
Kumuyi, who hosted Christian leaders across the
African continent at the Deeper Life Conference Centre along Lagos
Ibadan expressway to a five day bible teaching, warned Christian leaders
that as political leaders in government commit crime and go free under
the coverage of constitutional immunity, he said such does not exist in
Christianity.
According to him, there is no
partiality in God’s dealings with man, maintaining that irrespective of
one’s status in the society or church, if the individual fails to abide
by God’s word or meet God’s requirement for humanity, the sword of
judgment will not pass by such a one.
Kumuyi said: “God
does not overlook the evil done by the enlightened and punish the
uneducated. God does not overlook sin committed by church leaders and
punish ordinary church members who commit same crime as the great
leaders of the church. The constitution of the country is not the same
with the constitution of God.
“World leaders commit crimes and hide
under immunity clause but not so in the church. No person, undermining
his status, has immunity in the church. As it is in the world
constitution, the crime national leaders will commit and go free because
of immunity, but when ordinary citizens commit such crime they send
them to jail, it is not so in Christianity. There is no respect of
persons with God”.
He said Christ does not
give his followers license to do evil, rather Christ gives power to
Christians to live without sin and maintain a clean life.
The
revered man of God noted that God does not show preference to the
wealthy and condemn the poor but judges all alike, just as he condemned
the practice in the world which makes man to commit crime with impunity
and relegate the law of the land to the background.
“God is absolutely impartial. No consideration
of race, no social status, no history or impact made by man is
considered when man violates God’s word”, Kumuyi said, calling on all Christians to examine their lives as the judgment of God is without partiality.
Kumuyi, who said 2017 will be a great year
for all of God’s children, told the large gathering that all blessings
of life, spiritual and material will be released to God’s children as
God has made the promise and he will keep to his word.
“This
year is going to be good, in all your life, your family and all areas
of your life, God will provide. He will not let you down. Where you
never thought you will be, God will take you there. You will be a
dreamer. Everything will work together for your good. You will rule over
your enemies. You will be a solution to problems and your dream will
not be killed”, Kumuyi said.
To this end,
he called on Christians to remain faithful and abide in God’s word at
all times as God remains faithful to his word as he promised so he will
do.
